On 8-9 October, IMBB welcomed Dr. Ino Agrafioti, LS1 Panel Coordinator at the European Research Council (ERC) Executive Agency, for an informative session on ERC grants.

The talk gave an overview of the ERC funding schemes: Starting (StG), Consolidator (CoG), Advanced (AdG) and Synergy (SyG) Grants, as well as ERC PLUS. It then covered the evolving evaluation methodology and offered guidance on the new proposal structure.

The session also included a testimonial by Panagiotis Moschou, Associate Professor at the Department of Biology, University of Crete and a recent ERC grant recipient, who shared his experience of the application process.

To further support prospective applicants, Dr. Agrafioti held individual in-person meetings, offering personalised advice on their ERC proposals.
