The Department of Informatics of the Ionian University announces the award of the title of Honorary Doctor to Professor Nektarios Tavernarakis.

Professor Tavernarakis is Professor of Molecular Systems Biology at the Medical School of the University of Crete, Director of Research at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB) of the Foundation for Research and Technology–Hellas (FORTH), and former Chairman of FORTH.

Τhis distinction acknowledges his contributions to science .

The Honorary Award ceremony will take place on Friday, 21 November 2025, at 17:00, at the Ionian Academy, in Corfu.
